When nails need repair, not just polish

If your nails are torn, peeling, thin, or breaking — if product will not stay on, or your nails were damaged by the hands that worked on them, through over-filing or product picked and pried off — the answer is rarely another layer on top. The nail underneath needs repair first.Damaged nails show up in familiar ways. The edge peels in layers. A nail tears at the same weak point, again and again. Nails have a slight natural flexibility — it becomes a problem when they bend too easily, when they are sensitive to bending, when they are paper-thin and tear easily, or when they snap from severe brittleness. And the damage has a cause: over-filing can leave the surface sore and uneven, and product that is picked or pried off — or removed roughly — leaves the nail underneath weaker than it should be.Covering damage like that does not fix it. Here, the starting point is always the same: assess first, recommend second, never rush. Yehudeet, a New York State licensed nail specialist and private nail concierge, examines the natural nail plate before anything is applied — and recommends only what the nail in front of her actually needs.

What IBX is, and what it does

IBX is a nail repair treatment that works inside the natural nail to strengthen it from within — IBX Nail Repair Treatment, $65. It is used under enhancements or on its own for nails that tear, peel, are brittle, or will not hold product. That is what sets it apart from a surface coating, which sits on top and wears away. IBX supports the nail itself, so strength is rebuilt where the damage is. It can stand alone as a treatment for natural nails, or prepare a damaged nail before an enhancement — so what goes on top rests on a healthier foundation.

What an appointment looks like

Appointments are one-on-one, in a private suite in Amityville with its own entrance and bathroom, and they run about an hour and a half to two hours. Nothing is hurried. The first part of your visit is the assessment: Yehudeet looks closely at each nail, talks with you about what has happened to them, and tells you plainly what she sees. When your nails need repair, she can say so — whether the damage came from over-filing, or from product being picked off — and she will tell you what she recommends.

One boundary, with no exceptions: Yehudeet assesses the natural nail plate — she does not diagnose medical issues, of any kind. If a nail looks like a medical doctor needs to look at it, she will say so plainly, and recommend that you have it seen.

If IBX is right for your nails, the treatment is worked in from there. Every service ends with aftercare recommendations. The recommendations are part of the service — the creams that suit your skin, and cuticle oil made for you by special order, if you would like your own.

Who this is for — and who it is not for

This treatment is for the person whose nails tear, peel, or break no matter what they try; whose nails were over-filed or damaged and need rebuilding before anything goes over them. It is also for thin, flexible, or brittle nails that need strength without a bulky look.It is not a quick cover-up for damage, and it is not offered to anyone whose nails do not need it. Corrective work here is need-based only.

Proof, over months — not minutes

One client arrived with completely damaged nails, and no single-visit fix was promised — that would not have been honest. The nails were assessed, treated, and maintained visit by visit, with the progression documented in photographs month by month through October 2026, and the most recent set shared publicly in October 2026. That is the honest shape of nail repair — real change over months — and because every nail starts from a different place, the assessment always comes first.

Questions people ask

Does it hurt? No. IBX is a treatment applied to the nail, and the appointment around it is unhurried and gentle. Much of your visit is the assessment and the conversation about your nails. How many sessions might it take?It depends on the damage, and it is assessed at the first visit. Some nails need IBX once, as preparation before an enhancement. Others — like the client described above — are rebuilt gradually over a series of visits. You will be told honestly which yours looks like. Can polish or an enhancement go over it?Yes. IBX is used under enhancements, or on its own for natural nails that need strength. Which way is right for you is part of the assessment. What can you help with — and what can't you?Yehudeet assesses and repairs damage to the natural nail — from over-filing, from product picked off, from wear and tear. She does not diagnose medical issues. If something looks like a medical doctor needs to look at it, she will say so plainly and recommend seeing one first.
